Love Spring Rolls? Here Are Some Easy Tricks With Big Impact

Making Spring rolls gives you the perfect chance to showcase your creativity, here are some tips you can use next time you make them.

Create your own custom fillings

There is no ‘standard formula’ for the fillings of spring rolls. Use any local ingredients as a substitute if you do not like any of the ingredients in the following recipe or run into difficulties finding them.
Include some crunchy elements. E.g., carrots or cabbage.
Add some aromatic vegetables: E.g., coriander leaves or scallions
Add some protein: E.g., chicken, shrimp, or tofu for vegetarians.
Shred the vegetables by hand
The reason for this is to keep the filling dry. Grating will result in more liquids being released from the vegetables. We want to maintain a dry filing to make our spring rolls crispy.
Allow the cooked meat and shrimps to cool before mixing them with the other ingredients for the filling. The filling should always be cold during the wrapping process because the steam from a hot filling will wet the wrappers. The spring rolls won’t be crispy if you use wet wrappers.

Keep the spring roll wrappers moist!

If you expose the spring roll wrappers to air, they will dry up quickly and become brittle and hard.
This is similar to leaving tortilla wraps on the table for an extended period of time.
Here are the steps we recommend you use to keep the wrappers soft and moist:
1- Remove your packet of spring roll wrappers from the freezer. (You need to keep the wrappers in the freezer after purchase)
2- Leave it at room temperature to defrost
3- Once you can separate the wrappers from one with another without breaking them,
4- place the wrappers on the table and start wrapping the spring rolls.
Your crispy delicious rolls are now ready to be devoured!
